The Idle No More movement plan to  cause delays at one of Canada’s busiest borders tomorrow.  I just received notice from the Chatam-Kent OPP that there might be delays on Highway 401 in Essex through to the Ambassador Bridge on Wednesday January 16, 2013.  These delays will be due to a potential First Nation protest and could last most of the day from morning till afternoon.    The OPP is requesting that when possible drivers take highway 402 into the United States.

Labeled the  “Idle No More Unity Walk in Windsor” is part of the Idle No More movement.  This time around their goal is economic slow down at one of Canada’s busiest border crossing, the Ambassador Bridge.  While it is expected there will be no official blockade they do plan on slowing down traffic in the area.  Protestors are expected to meet up in Tilbury at 9:30 am where “a vehicle convoy will then proceed to the corner of Huron Church and Tecumseh Roads for 11 a.m., where we will be joined by more First Nations Peoples and our supporters,”

Drivers and carriers should plan for delays and avoid the area if at all possible.
