If you are a trucker you may already have had or will have a CVSA inspection at some point in your career. The Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA) recently released a video explaining a bit about the CVSA program along with answering some frequently asked question. This video is certainly something all drivers will want to watch to brush up on the CVSA inspection process and it’s program.
Annual CVSA inspection blitz
Roadcheck 2016 is scheduled for June 7-9, 2016. This will be the 29th year for the annual CVSA inspection blitz which is the largest targeted enforcement program for commercial motor vehicles in the world. During the 72-hour period about 10,000 CVSA-certified local, state, provincial and federal inspectors in Canada and the United States perform CVSA inspections, about 17 trucks and buses are inspected every minute. In 2015, 4.8% of drivers and 17.5% of vehicles were placed out of service during the Road Check safety blitz. Let’s make 2016’s numbers better.
