Summer is in full swing, time for family and fun but it’s also the time for filing your second quarter IFTA fuel tax returns.
International Fuel Tax Agreement or IFTA are taxes inter-jurisdictional commercial vehicles must pay to their home states or provinces. Taxes are based on the number of miles/kilometers traveled and fuel purchased in a given jurisdiction.
Some states also have mileage taxes that must be filed separately, such as Oregon, New Mexico, Kentucky and New York.
Taxes must be filed no later than July 31, 2014
Reminder that IRS Heavy Vehicle Use Taxes (IRS Form 2290) is also due by the end of the month.
